It’s a showdown between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Detroit Red Wings in the 2009 Stanley Cup Final. It will be a best-of seven series and the winner will be the champion of the National Hockey League and Stanley Cup for the season. And once again, the Penguins and Red Wings, both American-based NHL team, will compete in the championship series in high definition.
The NFL has officially announced the schedule for the 2009 Stanley Cup Final and it will start on Saturday, May 30, that’s six days earlier than planned. It will start at 7:30pm ET, hosted by Ron MacLean and live from Joe Louis Arena with Hockey Tonight.
NBC will telecast Games 1 and 2 and, if necessary, Games 5 through 7 of the best-of-seven series in the U.S., while VERSUS will broadcast Games 3 and 4. In Canada, CBC and RDS will provide coverage for the entire series. All games also will be carried on Sirius XM Radio.
