Is it a shock or not? Singer Aaron Carter and professional partner Karina Smirnoff was the 11^th couple to be eliminated from ABC’s Dancing with the Stars on Tuesday.

“One thing I will always remember and take from this competition is definitely the lessons that I’ve learned,” the 21-year-old singer said upon hearing the decision. “I’ve grown so much with your compliments and your criticisms, so thank you. Thank you for helping me to be able to grow on this show.”

Carter can’t help but cry after harsh remarks from the judges early in the competition. He beat out former football star Michael Irvin last week in a dance-off to keep his spot on the show. He came into Tuesday’s episode tied for last place with fellow dancer Donny Osmond. But the voters made their decision.

Head judge Len Goodman praised the young singer for his dedication.

“You’re an inspiration to all young people that anything is possible,” Goodman said. “If you were my son, I would be so proud of you.”

Set to compete in next week’s semifinals are Joanna Krupa, Mya, Kelly Osbourne and Donny Osmond, along with their professional dance partners.

Singer Michael Buble provided entertainment for the night’s results show and performed Haven’t Met You Yet and Feeling Good. And also another guest is Susan Boyle, who performed what has become her signature song, “I Dreamed a Dream.”
