Guns N’ Roses to Perform at Sturgis Rally 2010

After four years, Guns N’ Roses announced they are going to have a U.S. concert next month at the Rock N’ Rev Festival as part of the Sturgis Rally’s 70th anniversary celebration in Sturgis, South Dakota on August 13, 2010.

Rock N’ Rev Festival organizers stated Tuesday that they have officially signed up Guns N’ Roses, Daugthry, Alice in Chains, Godsmack, Creed and more to join the said event in Sturgis at the newly constructed Rock N’ Rev Amphitheater at Monkey Rock USA. Guns N’ Roses will headline the fifth and final night of the self-proclaimed “world’s biggest, baddest biker event”.

“We are truly blessed to be able to announce the addition of Guns N’ Roses at this historic moment in the band’s history, along with Daughtry, just as we relocate the Rock ‘N Rev Festival to our own amphitheater at Monkey Rock USA,” Daniel E. Catullo III, co-founder of the festival’s production company, DC3 Global, said in a statement.

Guns N’ Roses, lead by vocalist Axl Rose, is a popular hard rock band from the 80s and was named the most dangerous band in the world. Their latest and sixth, studio album entitles Chinese Democracy released in November 2008. On Wednesday, their debut album, Appetite for Destruction, will reach its 23rd anniversary of the release, a certified 18x platinum and exceeding 28 million copies sold as of June 2010.

Jimmy Buffett Free Concert at Gulf Coast and Tour Dates

Thousands of people were gathered in Gulf Coast, Alabama as Jimmy Buffett treat fans with a free concert.

The free concert offers to help people along the Gulf of Mexico hurt by the BP oil spill. It features Jimmy Buffett and his Coral Reefer Band and the show’s purpose was to promote tourism along the Gulf Coast, which has clearly suffered economical and environmental damage since the Deepwater Horizon oil spill began.

The concert was originally scheduled on July 1 but it was postponed because of Hurricane Alex. 35,000 tickets were given away but an official attendance count wasn’t available but it was sure to be more than that as countless number or crowd gathered to sing and dance.

The show, “CMT Present Jimmy Buffett & Friends: Live From the Gulf Coast”, airs tonight from 7 – 8:30 p.m. ET. (It will be taped delayed on the West Coast.)

Pregnant Alicia Keys Falls Onstage at the Essence Music Festival

Soon-to-be mom Alicia Keys gave the crowd a fright over the weekend at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans.

While performing the song Love Is Blind, Alicia Keys takes a backward stumble onstage making her audience gasps. Why do these celebrities so fond of wearing high heels even though they are already pregnant? They should avoid instances like this.

Alicia quickly recovered and continued singing at an onstage piano. A source told the Media Take Out website that, “She had on high heels and never seemed to have her balance all night. And as she was walking across the stage, she slipped and fell. She kept on singing on the ground like a real pro.”

Fortunately, Alicia landed on her rear end and she and her unborn baby are reportedly fine.

Her performance at the Essence Music Festival is one of the her last scheduled shows before she takes a break to prepare for the birth of her first child with her fiance, producer Swizz Beatz. The two are reported to get married in a private ceremony by the end of this year in the south of France.

Chris Brown’s Emotional Tribute to Michael Jackson at BET Awards 2010

Among those who performed at the at the 2010 BET Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night, June 27, it was Chris Brown, Alicia Keys and Eminem who shined that night. And among the three celebrities, Chris Brown has left the audience amazed and he has become the center of discussion on several blogs.

Chris Brown performed at the Black Entertainment Television paying tribute to the one and only King of Pop, Michael Jackson. It has been a year since Michael’s death and Brown sang a medley that included Remember The Time, Smooth Criminal, and Billie Jean. He did this complete with MJ’s trademark outfit, white gloves and a hat and doing all the MJ signature moves, especially the monnwalk. The highlight of his performance was the emotional Man In The Mirror where Brown fell to his knees and cried that he can’t almost sing the song. The crowd then filled the lyrics of the song that he wasn’t able to utter. It was a heart-warming moment.

Even Diddy and “Hustle & Flow” actress Taraji P. Henson can’t help but praise Chris Brown performance at the afterparty.

“You know who stole my heart tonight?” Henson asked.

“Chris Brown!” answered Diddy, host Queen Latifah, BET personality Tigger and a group of others in near-unison.

“He was so vulnerable,” Henson continued. “I love you, Chris!”

Crystal Bowersox Will Release Debut Album This Fall

Showing that being named as a runner-up is not a hindrance in achieving your dream, Crystal Bowersox just signed a recording contract with 19 Recordings/Jive Records. The recording company just announced that they are set to release her debut album later this year.

American Idol runner-up, Crystal Bowersox hopes to follow the footsteps of other idol who, even though didn’t made it as the winner, still, are successful like Jennifer Hudson, Clay Aiken and Adam Lambert.

“I’m really grateful to be given this opportunity to make an album and let people hear my music and I’m looking forward to working with all of the folks at 19/Jive,” Mama Sox said.

Crystal Bowersox is a 24-year old single mother from Toledo, OH. She was defeated by Lee Dewyze during American Idol’s ninth-season finale on May 26, 2010.

“In addition to being a gifted singer, Crystal has demonstrated that she has a dynamic stage presence and fans really connect with her sincerity and straight-forwardness,” said Barry Weiss, chairman and chief executive officer of RCA/JIVE Label Group. “Crystal is in a league of her own and we look forward to working with her.”

Crystal will also be participating in the upcoming “American Idol” Top 10 concert tour, which kicks off July 1 at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit.

Rolling Stone can’t get enough of Lady Gaga. Unlike Yankee owner Hal Steinbrenner who had permanently banned the songstress banned from the team’s clubhouse after her uninformed appearance, whisky-swinging and repeatedly fondling her boobs during a game last Friday, Rolling Stone is happy to welcome the Poker Face singer back.

Lady Gaga will cover the upcoming issue of Rolling Stone out on June 23. Some people are still not over her controversial Alejandro music video still, she is making news again for her almost naked photo on the cover of the magazine. Gaga first covered Rolling Stone June of last year wearing only a see-through bubble wrap-like outfit. In the upcoming July issue, Lady Gaga is wearing a blond bob and sporting nothing but skimpy black rubber underwear and carrying two big guns.

She admitted in the interview that even though she already came a long way, she still sometimes feels that she is a girl who needs to be protected.

“When I wake up in the morning, I feel just like any other insecure 24-year-old girl. Then I say, you’re Lady Gaga, you get up and walk the walk today’,” she said.

Also, Lady Gaga will talk about heart break, her devotion to fans, and upcoming album due out next year.

“I’ve been working on it for months now, and I feel very strongly that it’s finished right now,” the pop-culture phenomenon says about her third studio album. “It came so quickly. Some artists take years; I don’t. I write music every day.”

Susan Boyle Expected to Sing for the Pope

To sing in front of the pope? That would be an honor.

Susan Boyle is expected to perform for Pope Benedict XVI when he visits Scotland in September, the Scottish Catholic Church said on Thursday.

“We are negotiating with Susan Boyle and her agent at the moment for Susan to sing for the pope when he visits the U.K. in September as part of the Papal Mass at Bellahouston Park,” the spokesman said.

Susan Boyle, 49, whose career skyrocketed after joining Britain’s Got Talent and her performance became an overnight hit, is a local of Blackburn, West Lothian, in Scotland. She recently mentioned that she wants to perform for the head of the Catholic Church when he comes to the UK.

She said: “The Pope is a very special person and singing for him within the mass, it’s not just for him, it’s for everybody.”

The church is expecting around 100,000 worshippers to attend the service.

A statement from Scotland’s Catholic bishops said: “The Catholic Church welcomes the confirmation by Glasgow City Council that Bellahouston Park will be available and suitable for the visit of Pope Benedict XVI.

“The park provides a wonderful venue for what will be a tremendous event. It is a place that has a great resonance for Scottish Catholics, many of whom remember the wonderful day in 1982 when Pope John Paul II said mass there.”

CMT Music Awards is a night for country music lovers. Every year country music artists are being honored in a ceremony held in Nashville, Tennessee and broadcasted live on CMT.

The 2010 CMT Music Awards were held on June 9, 2010 at the Bridgestone Arena and was hosted by Kid Rock.

The big winner of the event was Carrie Underwood who won two awards during the event, Video of the Year for Cowboy Casanova and Performance of the Year for Temporary Home. Sorry, no awards this year for country princess Taylor Swift.

Eminem Recovery Leaked and Not Afraid Video

Two tracks from Eminem’s Recovery album have already been leaked over the internet, “Won’t Back Down”, a duet track with Pink and “Love the Way You Lie”, collaboration with Rihanna. Now, the whole album already made its way online.

It seems like it’s already a trend nowadays that rap music must be leaked first before being officially released. Take Drake’s Thank Me Later album for example. Even it’s not a big deal to some anymore, all these leaking could affect the albums sales of the artists.

Not Afraid was the first single Eminem released from Recovery, a follow-up of his album 2009 Relapse, and a video of the track is also available. We have the tracklist here and even though the songs are already available for download in some sites, we still encourage you to buy the album, out on June 22, to support the Eminem.

Alanis Morissette Marries Rapper Souleye

Grammy Award winning singer Alanis Morissette made it official. She recently announced that she is married to rapper MC Souleye, whose real name is Mario Treadway.

She took her Facebook and Twitter page to announce the wonderful news.

“Hi guys! So happy to share with you that my man Souleye and I got married. We’re very excited to embark on this journey with each other….sending love…connect soon xo – Alanis”

According to a source of People, the two tied the knot in an intimate ceremony on May 22 with family present at their Los Angeles home.

To those of you who were under the impression that Alanis Morissette was already married, you are obviously wrong. She used to date Ryan Reynolds back in 2004. They were engaged to be married but the two ended it in February 2007. Ryan Reynolds married Scarlett Johansson in September 2008 while Alanis only began dating Souleye in October 2009.

Alanis Morisette is best known for her musical work in the mid nineties. Her debut album, Jagged Little Pill, has sold more than 30 million copies around the world, with the numbers still increasing every year. The album carried 5 hit singles Hand In My Pocket, Head Over Feet, Ironic, You Learn, and You Oughta Know.

This is the first marriage for both Alanis and Souleye. Congratulations to the newlyweds. We wish them luck and happiness.
