Halloween is coming! It’s one of those times of the year that we can abuse our taste buds and treat ourselves with lots and lots of sweets. Ever wondered what food to prepare during Halloween parties? There are some specific foods that should be chosen from and it ranges from the most simple yet infamous candy apples (or toffees) to the more accustomed Barmbrack. Well, you can’t just go out and prepare anything. What would the guest do or the trick or treater kids say if you give him thanksgiving turkey during a visit? Weird huh?

Trick or treaters should be prepared for in advance so that those little kids won’t cause any mischief on you, just to be on the safe side, during the Halloween night. Mostly, itsy bitsy sized candies wrapped in orange, black and brown, the traditional Halloween colors, has its appeal to the young ones. Sugar canes are practically a no no. Pretzels, caramel corn and potato chips packed in small bags would really be womped down by those costumed kiddies and of course so is the world favorite chocolate, sticky caramel and gum. Toffees should be abundant, just be sure that those candy apples are made of real apples, sweet sticky sugar syrup and nuts, not the ones with those weird stuff. Pumpkin pie and pumpkin bread are also on top of the list, after carving out those jack-o’-lanterns, stay with the season and bake out those homemade pumpkin favorites, being artistic and deliciously yummy both at the same time. If you wanna creep out, just a bit, those cute little costumed kiddos, bring out those Halloween shaped up candies (you can make them yourselves or just by them out), worms, spiders, skulls, bats, pumpkins and many more. This would surely be a hit, kids enjoys a little scare with their sweets. Candy corn, roasted pumpkin seeds, roasted sweet corn and pumpkin/apple pie ice cream could be made and enjoyed too.

Not just sweets, Halloween treats are also served with drinks too. For the kids, apple cider would be a nice treat. For the adults, enjoy a glass of martini along with your guest to celebrate the eerie event; an occasional eyeball with your drink would surely heighten up the flavor and mood of the partygoers. Halloween cocktail drinks like the Black Witch, Spooky Juice, The Green Ghost, Ghostbuster and the above mentioned Bloody Eyeball Martini is quite famous during these times. Halloween punch drinks mostly include the Great Pumpkin Punch and the Zombie Punch. just be sure not to drink too much, enjoy and savor the moment being sober and fun.
So that’s mostly it guys and gals. Halloween should always be a treat to be enjoyed by everyone young and old. Don’t be a hag or a troll that chomps up all the good stuff. Share those creepy bundles of sweets and be part of this festive goose bumpy holiday.
