Wow. Jim Carrey is serious about his upcoming role in “The Three Stooges” movie. The Ace Ventura star has promised to gain 40-50 pounds for his role as Curly in the film. Jim added more accessories to his whole new look – wearing glasses and a grown a full beard. He showed off his chubbier figure on Thursday night at UCLA’s 2009 Visionary Ball in Beverly Hills.
Long-time partner Jenny McCarthy, who stood by Jim’s side on Thursday, previously told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush that she was looking forward to “dating Curly.”
“He said, ‘You know, I’m going to have to gain 40-50 pounds for this role.’ And I said, ‘Oh my God! I get to be dating Curly!’ That is the greatest thing ever,” she told Billy in April.
The studio had previously set Oscar-winner Sean Penn to play Larry, but Penn has dropped out to spend time with his family. The studio is zeroed in on another Oscar-winner, Benicio Del Toro, to play Moe and Paul Giamatti has been confirmed for role of Larry.
The Three Stooges movie is set to hit the big screen in 2010.
