Chicken lovers can feast to newest sandwich creation of the world famous KFC, the KFC ‘Double Down’. It consists of two slices of bacon, melted Swiss cheese and pepper Jack cheese, the Colonel’s “secret sauce” squeezed between two deliciously fried chicken fillets. Yes, you got that right. No buns, just delicious KFC Original Recipe filets.
I just heard about it and my heart already started to palpitate. It’s simply indescribable, simply mouthwatering. But beware of the calories. It said to be packing approximately 1,200 calories and over 50 fat grams, more than half of the calorie suggested intake for the entire day for many people (1940 calories per day for women and 2550 for men).
Nutritionists are not happy about it and described it as an “explosive weapon of mass destruction” because of its hearth health concern. Come on. Who doesn’t love chickens? I’d eat that everyday if available in our area.
The KFC “Double Down” is being tested in Providence, Rhode Island and Omaha, Nebraska for $6.99 a meal but you can buy the sandwich for $4.99.
