Professional NBA forward for the Miami Heat, Michael Paul Beasley Jr., was checked into a rehabilitation hospital in Houston because of some possible substance and psychological issues. The Heat encouraged him to do so according to Yahoo Sports.
They believed that all of this started after Beasley posted a photo of himself and his new tattoo, bearing a text “Supercool Beas” and wings, on Twitter. This was followed by a lot of alarming posts that had been made on his page, not because of his tattoo but because of the plastic bag lying on the floor in the background, which many people speculated to be marijuana. Some of his Twitter posts were,
“Y do I feel like the whole world is against me…I can’t win for losin.”
“Feelin like it’s not worth livin!!!!!!! I’m done.”
Then, his account was shut down on Saturday night.
Beasley was already involved with this kind of incident before. On September 3, 2008, police responded to a fire alarm on the hotel room where Beasley and other rookies, Maria Chalmers and Darrell Arthur were staying. They claimed that the room had a strong scent of marijuana. No evidence was found so no charges were filed. On September 18, 2008 though, Pat Riley forced him to league officials that he had slipped out the door when the police arrived and he was fined $50,000.
