NASCAR racer Joey Logano‘s car got shoved by Tony Stewart and directly into Bobby Labonte on the 32nd lap on September 27th at Dover International Speedway. Joey’s car rolled up to 8 times before halting on its wheels. The amazing thing is the 19-year-old rookie didn’t receive any scratch from the crash. He walked away from his car to the ambulance and was released after a short while. He’s okay but obviously in shock.
“I’m fine. It just scared the heck out of me,” Logano said. “I got tagged from behind. I was like, ‘Damn, make this thing stop.’
“I started rolling and I was in there like, ‘Damn, please make this thing stop.’ And it wouldn’t. It just kept going and going. I was fine. It just shows how safe these cars are. It was the wildest ride I’ve ever been on. You can’t go on a roller coaster any worse than that.”
Joey Logano is currently driving the #20 Home Depot Toyota Camry in the Sprint Cup Series and the #20 GameStop/Sport Clips Toyota Camry in the Nationwide Series for Joe Gibbs Racing. He made history becoming the youngest driver to win a Nationwide Series race at 18 years, 21 days old.
Meanwhile, in a report via NECN.com, Tony Stewart over the radio saying “Wish I saw that coming. Don’t know how to say sorry enough to Joey. I didn’t anticipate it coming, and I drilled right through him.”
We’re just glad that no one was harmed.
