It’s been a decade since Disney’s Pixar released the computer animated 3D Story 2. Buzz, Woody, Jessie and the gang is back with Toy Story 3 and the movie will hit the theaters on June 8, 2010.

Andy is now in college and even though he is fond of his toys, he dropped off Buzz, Woody and the rest of their toy-box friends at a day-care center.

The division of who specializes in computer generated imagery (CGI) animation Disney called Circle 7 Animation was originally working with Toy Story 3 but was terminated when Disney acquired Pixar in 2006.

Circle 7 Animation’s Jim Herzfeld wrote their own version of the film and it is entitled Toy Story 3 Recalled. It follows the other toys shipping a malfunctioning Buzz to Taiwan, believing that he will be fixed there. While searching on the Internet, however, they find out that the malfunctions are happening to many toys around the world and the company has issued a massive recall. Fearing Buzz’s destruction, a group of Andy’s toys (Woody, Rex, Slinky, Mr. Potato Head, Hamm, Jessie, and Bullseye) venture to rescue Buzz. At the same time Buzz meets other toys from around the world that were once loved but have now been recalled.

Tom Hanks kept his role as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, Joan Cusack as Jessie, Don Rickles as Mr. Potato Head, and Wallace Shawn as Rex.

I’m looking forward to this toy movie. It brings back so much memories. Here’s the trailer. It doesn’t reveal much though.
