It’s still a long way to go but the whole Houston community is already excited for 2010 Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Half Marathon in January and a number were already waiting applying to be registered in the race.

Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Half Marathon is a yearly event in Houston and is now considered the premier winter marathon in the United States.  The Ultimate Guide To Marathons ranked its course as the fastest winter marathon and the second fastest marathon in overall. They also added that this event is the fourth most crowd-supported marathon with more than 200,000 spectators that motivates and cheers for the runners.

The marathon will cater 22,000 participants. Of the 22,000 entries, 11,000 entries are reserved for each of the marathon and half marathon fields. It will offer participants a fast, flat, scenic and single-loop course and a unique running experience in America’s fourth largest city.

“I think the whole Houston community is excited. It wouldn’t surprise me if we’re 50 percent full by this time next week.” the race’s general manager Steven Karpas said.

The 2010 Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Half Marathon is scheduled on January 17, 2010, Sunday at George R. Brown Convention Center (GRB) 1001 Avenida de las Americas, Downtown Houston,  77010. The first wave will start at 7:00a.m. and the second wave at 7:10 (about 10 minutes after the first wave).

The early registration fee for the marathon is $90 and $65 for the half-marathon through July 31. Then, if entry is still available, fees will be increased by $10. The race guarantees it’ll be worth it. You’ll have the support of the fans from the beginning up to the end.
