Verizon iPhone to be Announced Tomorrow
We know there are a lot of you getting excited about the news that the most coveted smartphone, the iPhone, is now going to Verizon.
Tomorrow, in a smartly chosen date and time, 1/11/11 at 11am, Verizon Wireless is expected to announce its iPhone at a New York event. Steve Jobs is also anticipated to attend the said event.
For four years since the first iPhone was released, people have been eagerly waiting for Verizon to have its own version of the handset. This will clearly give those who prefer Verizon over AT&T more choice and unlimited data.
“Verizon Wireless, the country’s largest wireless carrier, is confident enough in its network that it will offer unlimited data-use plans when it starts selling the iPhone around the end of this month, a person familiar with the matter said. Such plans would provide a key means of distinguishing its service from rival AT&T Inc., which limits how much Internet data such as videos and photos its customers may use each month,” Hugh Pickens of the WSJ said.
There have been some issues with the AT&T network and consumers are complaining about their network’s quality including the dropped and choppy calls.
Verizon’s iPhone is said to be similar to iPhone 4 but support CDMA.
“Whether they are iPhones or Droids, they are smartphones,” Verizon Chief Executive Ivan G. Seidenberg said in a mid-November interview. “Regardless of the mix, we are prepared to carry more data.”
We will know more about the new Verizon iPhone tomorrow at the press conference. We will post some updates and see what they have to offer. But tell us, will you be getting one once Verizon release their own iPhone smartphone?
